All students who are residents of Douglas County are eligible to apply to Brighten Academy. The school does not discriminate on the basis of intellectual or athletic ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, disability, proficiency in English, or any other basis prohibited by law.

Brighten Academy will hold a lottery drawing Monday, March 5th at 6:00 p.m. at Heritage Baptist Church. In order to be entered into the lottery drawing, a lottery registration form must be completed and brought to the school. Forms can be dropped off on business days between February 1st thru February 15th between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure that all information on the form is correct and the form is received in the front office during the designated time frame. A lottery ticket will be given as receipt for the form. It is imperative that parents/guardians verify their child's name and correct grade level on the list prior to the lottery drawing. This list will be posted at the front office the week before the lottery drawing. We strongly encourage parents/guardians to attend the lottery drawing.
We will offer tours again once the lottery drawing has been completed. The tour will be open for families who received a spot for the 2012/2013 school year and also for families who are in the top 10 on the wait list for each grade level.
