Production Clinic Information and Audition Requirements
Students will perform a memorized one-minute monologue of their choice for auditions. Students are encouraged to find a monologue that appeals to them, that they connect with personally, and that they feel showcases their acting abilities. The files below include some sample monologues from literature, theatre or film but audition monologues do not have to be chosen from these examples or even from these genres. Many monologues are available online and many are specifically written for students. It does not need to be a classic monologue. Monologues should be age appropriate, should not involve accents or dialects, and should not be related to the show for which you are auditioning. If you choose an online monologue, please bring 5 copies for the audition panel.
Clinic is designed to help students prepare for auditions. We will be offering instruction in verbal and physical characterization and assisting them with monologue presentation including slate introductions. Please have your student bring a written copy of their monologue with them to clinic so we can best help them prepare.

Musical Audition Requirements
Students will perform a memorized one-minute monologue of their choice. Please see the information listed above in the Fall Production Clinic Information and Audition Requirements above specifics on monologue choices and clinic preparation.
Students will perform a 16 to 32-bar (thirty seconds to one minute) song selection of their choice. Please choose a standard musical theatre selection from the genre of the show. An accompaniment CD or a digital file of the accompaniment music should be available for auditions. Students are much more successful when singing with accompaniment than trying to perform acapella.
Students will also perform a group dance routine from the show and may participate in group singing with a selection from the show. These will be taught during Clinic.
